Drew won some free day tickets to Disneyland in late Fall that had to be used by the end of 2012 and we just couldn't let them go to waste, so on December 12th we woke up WAAAAY too early (4am) and went to the airport for our whirlwind Disney trip with Crosby. My Mom and Dad graciously agreed to watch Jack during our excursion and it was so much fun to have a day alone with Crosby, he is such a fun kid and getting to focus all of our attention on him was a real treat. This was Crosby's 3rd trip involving an airplane, but the other 2 were a long time ago (9 months old and 19 months old), he didn't really enjoy either trip so we were interested to see how he would do. He LOVED flying. He was so excited about take off, easily entertained himself and got a kick out of the whole experience.
This is the boys right before we boarded. Tired, but excited!
We landed, got a shuttle to our hotel, dumped our luggage and headed straight for the park. We got to the park just after 10am. Pure fascination and excitement upon seeing everything for the first time!
One of our first stops was in Tomorrowland. We had to check out all of the Star Wars paraphernalia, we even saw some storm troopers and Darth Vader (though Crosby was NOT excited about being near them, I think the real life guys freaked him out a bit). The boys each built their own light saber, below is Crosby's. Drew and Crosby loved this!
One of Crosby's favorite rides was Autotopia. We did it multiple times and he drove each time, he got a kick out of jerking the car around and bumping the median.
We also checked out Toon town and rode the train around almost the whole park.
After that we headed over to California Adventure and our first stop was Radiator Springs - Carsland.
Carsland was awesome! So much to see and look at. It was very well done and the Christmas decorations were very cool. We saw Mater and DJ and had a blast.
Over on the Pier Crosby decided he wanted to go on a Carousel, we started on horses but after a lap or two he wanted to move to the bench. For our cautious boy this was a big step!
We even saw Lannie and Wayne from Prep & Landing, one of CJ's favorite holiday movies!
We went on several rides in the Bugs Life land and then hit up some snacks and staked out a place for the parade. The boys each picked out a Mickey cookie.
The parade was by far the highlight of our day. Crosby was full of wonder and SO excited for every float and character that passed our way. Such a great memory!
After the parade we headed out to dinner and then back to our hotel and crashed for the night. We hopped a morning flight home and picked up Jackson. It was a crazy fast, but very memorable and fun trip!
